Can I fertilize too much?
I’m fertilizing my lawn about 5 to 6 times a year. Is that too much? It seems like my lawn is good to go after an application, but is getting weaker and needing more fertilizer as I go. I’m wondering if fertilizing too much can cause damage to the soil or something.
That should be fine as long as each application is spread out evenly every month or two. You might want to explore the benefits of organic fertilizer though as synthetic does tend to wear down the microbial life in the soil over time.

LikeDislikeChris, I think organic fertilizer is a good idea.
I also think that if you are worried about the amount of fertilizer being used, then just cut the amount of fertilizer for each application in half. This will give you an even feeding with smaller doses. I think in the long run, this will be more healthy for your lawn

LikeDislikeYes it is possible to fertilize too much, but I don’t think 5-6 times a year is too much. Make sure you correctly water though!
